CHRISTOPHE BERNARD
Principal Consultant
Logical AI Governance
Drawing on over twenty years of legal, regulatory, and strategic advisory experience across Europe and North America, Christophe Bernard brings deep expertise in data privacy and AI governance to his role as principal consultant at Logical AI Governance. His cross-sector experience spans legal practice, consulting, and corporate advisory—informing his ability to help organizations design practical, risk-aligned governance structures for emerging technologies.
Mr. Bernard began his career in Brussels, where he served as Partner and Co-Head of the European law practice at Lallemand Legros & Joyn. There, he represented clients before EU regulators and courts, advising on internal market law, data privacy, competition, and financial regulation. He later founded Legital, a privacy advisory firm with offices in Brussels and Toronto, helping global clients meet privacy requirements and address complex cross-border regulatory issues.
In Canada, Mr. Bernard served as Executive Director in KPMG’s Risk Advisory practice, where he led engagements across public and private sectors—including telecom, media, health, and finance. He designed and implemented enterprise-wide privacy compliance programs, managing regulatory risk across jurisdictions and improving operational effectiveness. His work consistently combined legal precision with organizational insight, supporting change management through training, stakeholder engagement, and integrated toolkits.
Now at Logical AI Governance, he draws on that foundation to support clients in building forward-looking governance systems that address both regulatory expectations and real-world operational challenges. He specializes in AI system oversight, privacy integration, and the practical application of emerging standards like the EU AI Act, Canada's AIDA, and the NIST AI RMF.
Mr. Bernard holds an Executive MBA from the Rotman School of Management, where he was named a Bregman Scholar, an LLM from the Sorbonne, and law and science degrees from institutions in the UK and France. He is certified in AI governance, strategy, and cognitive technologies, including credentials from the IAPP and Cornell. Fluent in English and French, he is known for his ability to bridge regulatory, business, and technical domains—equipping clients to govern AI and data systems with integrity, agility, and confidence
